Sold Out £14.50
Ripe cherry fruit on the nose leads on to a warm, fruity palate. Lively red cherry and plum flavours are wrapped in fine-grained tannins and the finish is long and fruit-filled. Tomato-based pasta dishes; char-grilled pork; cold meats; roasted Mediterranean veg. The Primitivo grape is known for producing juicy, gutsy reds in the Southern Italian area of Puglia. Its other claim to fame is that it is the same grape as Zinfandel in California, where it produces some great full-bodied blockbusters (as well as sweet rose). This Primitivo is grown in the Terre di Chieti area of Abruzzo in Central Italy. The favourable climatic conditions and soil result in a wine of balance with fresh but full fruit and good structure. If you fancy trying something a bit different and quite unique in style, you won’t regret giving this a go.
